This module aims to introduce students to the key concepts of the techniques required when developing Microprocessor applications for renewable energy. Students will gain an experience in the application of software design mythologies with particular reference made to the importance of documentation. Additionally they will gain an appreciation of the techniques to optimise code and data storage when working with embedded systems with limited memory.

	LO1 - Develop optimised, memory efficient code for embedded systems.
	LO2 - Plan the development of a project over an extended time period, having realistic goals and milestones; additionally they will be able to plan such that parallel development of system components is possible.
	LO3 - Relate concepts in programming to the digital logic and devices on which code is executed.
	LO4 - Have an awareness of the requirement for employing software engineering when developing code.
	LO5 - Apply Software life-cycle and verification methods to enable the development and testing of code against predefined requirements for real life problems.
