The module aims overall to provide an up-to-date understanding of the variety and extent of diversity in human DNA, and of how analysis of diversity can be used to reconstruct population history. The module will cover recent advances in the analysis of human variation, and will describe both the patterns of genetic diversity present within and between modern populations, as well as the mechanisms by which diversity is created.
