LO1 - Comprehend/explain/demonstrate insight into the underlying concepts behind the following aspects of biomechanics: mechanical properties of hard and soft tissues; design considerations of orthopaedic devices; impact biomechanics. |

LO2 - To be able to apply the knowledge gained in each of the subject areas to an engineering application demonstrating significant understanding.e.g. a method for quantifying a mechanical property or the design of an engineered device such as an orthopaedic implant. |

LO3 - To be able to demonstrate an awareness of developing technologies in the areas of orthopaedic implants, engineered cardiovascular devices and automotive safety systems. |
