To draw together the various strands of learning throughout the Product Design course and provide an opportunity to apply the knowledge, skills and abilities attained into one major design study; in particular emphasising creativity, innovation, design craft and knowledge of materials and manufacture.

	LO1 - Conduct user-based research into a relevant field of design. Identify, analyse and select research material appropriate to inform the design process and present this in a clear and concise report.
	LO2 - Creatively explore, evaluate and synthesise a range of new and innovative product design ideas that take into account the needs of the user. Propose conceptual design solutions to a clearly defined design problem.
	LO3 - Critically review materials and manufacturing constraints and consider their impact on product design. Refine and develop the design of the product to address issues of manufacture.
	LO4 - Organise, plan and manage project workload and timescales to meet exacting deadlines.
	LO5 - Write a clear and concise technical specification detailing and justifying material choices, proposed quantities, manufacturing tooling, parts analysis and costs.
	LO6 - Design and produce presentation visuals and technical illustrations to clearly communicate the design, use and manufacture of the final product solution.
