To provide students with a basic knowledge and understanding of the main stream computer modelling techniques used in modern engineering practice, including Finite Element, Finite Difference & Finite Volume methods.

	LO1 - Understand the discretisation of continuum engineering problems represented by governing differential equations using different numerical techniques (FEM, FDM & FVM).
	LO2 - Identify and apply appropriate computer modelling techniques to solve specific engineering problems.
	LO3 - Demonstrate an understanding of computer programmes used to solve the governing equations for engineering problems.
	LO4 - Use general IT tools and present numerical results obtained using computer modelling techniques in technical reports.
